An outing to the State Park

I finally talked my human into taking me to the lake! I was so excited this morning... I haven't been out of the house in a while, and I love going places.
There's a state park not far from our house, and we packed a few changes of clothes, my bike, the camera, and headed off!
Unfortunately, we picked one of the windiest days to go. I tied my hair up really tight, so it wouldn't blow in my face and spoil the pictures, but it was blowing so hard, I kept losing my balance and falling over. The human really freaked when I nearly blew over into the lake itself!
And I never got to ride my bike, which made me kind of sad. We don't have any smooth, concrete places to ride it at the house.

We got a few photos of me at the lake. Here's one of my favorites:

I got my toes all sandy!

After that, the human decided maybe being so close to the water wasn't such a great idea, and I got into some longer pants and better shoes, and we went for a short hike.
It wasn't so windy back in the trees, and we had fun just being outside.
Until we came upon this incline:

Looking at the picture, it doesn't seem that steep, but my clumsy human tripped on a root at the top, and we took a tumble down it. Neither of us were really hurt, but it was kind of scary! AND my human dropped me to save the camera!
Ok, so it's a really nice, expensive camera, but still. Does her camera have my sparkling personality and great looks?
Not really.

After that, we decided to can the hiking for a while. We headed to a pretty little picnic area we'd found, with this really neat water fountain in the middle of it.
I have to tell you, I was relieved to see it. I was parched, and the human had remembered my clothes, but had forgotten our picnic basket with the drinks and sandwiches.
I climbed up to get a drink, turned the handle, and...

What?? A fountain, but no cool, refreshing fall of sparkling blue water? What gives? I raised my arm in dolly dismay, and climbed back down.
The human offered to take me back down to the lake if I was that desperate for a drink, but I waved her off. Lake water? Ew!

I wandered over to a conveniently placed tree stump, and took a seat. I decided to just relax and ponder life for a while, and it was really quite pleasant. I liked watching all the birds that flew overhead, and listening to the wind that blew violently through the trees.

Finally, the human and I decided it was getting kind of late, and we had some errands to run, so we needed to get moving on my Easter/spring photos.
I climbed onto one of the concrete picnic tables, and the human handed me my pretty spring dress to change into. I stood there, looking at her expectantly, hoping to be pointed in the general direction of the dressing room, but alas! for the second time that day, I was disappointed.

"Just do what all my human models do, and change right here," she told me when I asked her what I was supposed to do.
"In front of everyone?" I asked her, shock evident in my voice.
She looked around at the deserted picnic area and laughed at me. "There's no one else here. I'm sure the squirrels won't be offended by a little dolly nudity," she giggled.
So I changed out of my horrible hiking gear (seriously, never hike in capris and sneakers without socks. I do have hiking boots. I just couldn't find them.) right there, in the open! I was kind of mortified for a minute, and then I realized...

I'm naked in a state park which is probably illegal and most of my friends are gonna be so jealous!! I don't know what happened, but suddenly, I felt great about the whole thing. I didn't want to put my pretty dress on, I just wanted to run around in the grass and be freeeeeeeee!

The human put a stop to this quickly, though. She's such a buzz kill.
I was forced, kicking and screaming into my new dress, but once it was on, I have to admit I did look pretty sharp.

We took a bunch of photos like this, and then I asked for one with her. She said that was a nice idea, and we posed together.
I should have known something was up, because she kept giggling.
She was giving me bunny ears the whole time!!

My human is Such. A. Jerk.

I had to gripe at her, but I finally got a good photo, which is one of my favorites now.

And my absolute favorite photo of the day is this one.
Syd even did it up all fancy for me!

So that was my trip to the state park! I hope we get to go back, soon. I had a lot of fun!

No Travels and a Typewriter

So... still haven't gone to the lake. Actually, I haven't gone anywhere.
This is very upsetting for so-called traveling doll.
I DID get to go to the lovely bistro in Dallas twice now, but I didn't actually get to go inside. I got to sit in the car while Junie went in to show off her pink wig, and Lindsey got to go in because she's special somehow.
It's not that I don't like Lindsey, but... I'm the traveling doll here! I'm the one with the blog who needs updated with new adventures and cool photos!
I'm the one who should get a few pics hanging out with the display girls and lounging on pretty pink beds I'll never own.
*sigh* Maybe next time... Syd picked up a job application while she was there, so maybe I can go with her when she goes to turn it in next week.
And sit in the car and wait.

I did get a new pair of jammies this last time she went, and they're really cute. I borrowed a pair just like them when I was staying in Kentucky with Kailey (Miss you!).
I'd post a photo, but my magical typewriter doesn't seem to have a connection for my camera.
Or a mouse, for that matter, which gets tricky, let me tell you! Right now Syd tells me to move the curser around with my mind, but that she'll figure something out for me eventually.
Since I can't post a PJ pic, here's a shot of my magical internet connecting typewriter:

So far I can only visit two pages, my blog and facebook, but Syd swears she'll make me more sites soon. For something that's supposedly 'magical', this thing's powers are kinda crappy. It relies on Syd to do way too much.

C'mon, let's hit the Lake!

Woot! The human brought us a typewriter yesterday, so I can finally update my blog myself without waiting for her to do it for me!
And in case you're wondering, yeah, I'm aware most typewriters don't connect to the internet, but the human has yet to wander in with a laptop for us, so I have to make do with what I have. For all points and purposes, I've decided that this one is magic or something. Either way, the blog is getting updated. :D

I'm trying really hard to convince the human that a couple of us (meaning me, Chrissa, Remy and my new friend, Jordan) should pack up a couple of sandwiches and beach towels and head to the lake tomorrow.
The weather says it's going to be gorgeous out, so why not? We're all dying to go do something fun together and take some pictures other than in the doll room where the lighting is terrible, but she's not going for it. Keeps putting us off, and saying stuff like "We'll see."
We'll see? What the heck is up with that?

Do or do not, there is no we'll see!
Erm, total misquote there, but you know what I mean.

I got to go back outside and take more new pictures, but none of them really came out very good, so I don't think I'm going to post any.
I was trying to model the new exclusive outfit for a review, but we went out at midday, and the sun washed out the shirt. Yikes!

Oh, and before I forget, I'm gonna give my photo contest a shoutout! No one is jammin' in their jammies yet, and I'm a little worried... We've only got maybe two weeks until the end of this theme, and we haven't gotten one entry yet! I'm afraid we might have to just cancel this, or do it less often. So hop over to our blog, http://ninetteandkaileyphotos.blogspot.com/ and send us an entry to keep that from happening!

Hello Texas!

I'm finally home, and I got here just in time for a nasty thunderstorm to roll through. Um, can I go back to Kentucky yet?
I got a really nice welcome home glomp from my Texas bestie, Chrissa. I've missed her a lot, and I'm really happy to see her. I miss my KY bestie, Kailey, though. I told Chrissa that she and I were just going to have to both go live with Kailey full time, but the human laughed and said that wasn't going to happen.
*sigh*
After I finish this blog, I'm going to try and steal a postcard from the human's desk and write to Kailey. I wonder if she's missing me too?

Once the rain moved out and the sun came out, I got to go outside and take a few pics for my blog! I climbed up into the plum tree and posed with the flowers and the bees.
I picked this one for my new header:

But this one is one of my favorites, too!

I wanted to keep taking pictures, but it's so wet, I can't stand on the ground. I'd ruin my shoes, and my human would freak.
Check out all this water behind me in the yard! I'm standing on a patch of concrete in our driveway, so my shoes won't get wet.

I can't wait for it to dry out!

Well, that's it for now... I've got to go finish up unpacking and doing laundry and all that other fun stuff you get to do when you get home from vacation!

Later!

Good-bye Kentucky

Boo, I'm on my way home to Texas! I'm so not happy about that... this box is small, dark, and stuffy and I hate it. I also hated leaving my Kentucky bestie, Kailey, behind.
*sigh*
I know I can always go back, and I'm sure we'll be e-mailing like crazy, but it's just not the same. I'll really miss her.

I guess I am a little happy about going home. I'll be able to sleep in my own bed, bug my sis, and hug my Texas bestie, Chrissa, but I can't wait for new adventures! I've caught the travel bug and I want to see the world!

Before I headed back to the Lone Star State, my host Aaryana put together a farewell photo gallery for me, so here it is! Click the link below and check it out!

Mmmm, Tacos!

Thanks so much to Aaryana for letting me visit!
